Hi Everyone!
As many of you may have noticed we have terminated our contract with our previous management company Cedar Management and have begun a new contract with First Service Residential. In the transition the yearly assessments have been sent out a little later than in previous years, thus pushing back the dues date.
Some residents have noticed  errors in their calculated assessments, if you feel your assessment balance is incorrect please contact our Community Manager Rachel Gold email: rachel.gold@fsresidential.com phone: 704-227-0892 or her assistant Amanda Hamel email:amanda.hamel@fsresidential.com phone 704-805-1788.

Withers Grove Residents:
As you may have noticed, Withers Grove has been experiencing some messy construction along our sidewalks, walkways and for some lucky residents, our lawns. This work is being provided by Tucker INC a utility contractor for AT&T. AT&T has hired Tucker INC to update AT&T's systems and establish AT&T Uverse. Tucker INC is responsible for restoring lawns, sidewalks and streets to their exact origin upon the completion of their contracted job.
We recommend homeowners take pictures of their lawns if it appears work will be done near your home. If you have any questions for the contractors, their manager is Bill Tucker and their contact information is as follows:

Security Habits while you are at Home

Crime Prevention Tip: Security Habits At Home
All the security devices in the world will not keep you safe if you don’t make a habit of using them.
Healthy caution must become a habit.
1. Always answer the phone; otherwise, a potential burglar may think the home is unoccupied and break
in. When you answer the phone, never let the caller know that you are home alone.
2. Always respond to your doorbell. First, check through the peephole viewer to see who is outside your
door. Never open your door to anyone you do not know and fully trust.
3. In the case of service and repairmen, verify their identities and purposes with their dispatchers before
you open the door. If you decide to allow them to enter, arrange to either have a friend or neighbor there
with you or monitoring you with periodic phone calls.
4. Do not allow children to answer the door, because they are less cautious. Begin reinforcing good
security habits at an early age.
5. Be careful about giving out information concerning yourself or where you live, either in person, by
mail, or over the phone.
6. Do not put your name on your mailbox. In the phone book, list your name in a manner that does not
indicate that you are a female or living alone.

Here is the link for the latest Mecklenburg County Get Going Guide.  Take a moment to go through and see all that Mecklenburg County has to offer!  There are a lot of activities and locations in our area.  They also offer a variety of classes for nominal fees.  For example, in October they have a course for how to compost for just $10 at the McDowell Nature Center.

Happy Independence Day!  Every year the HOA receives several complaints about neighbors shooting off fireworks.  Not only is it illegal to shoot of fireworks that leave the ground and explode in North Carolina, you can also be fined.  In the past fireworks have caused damage to homes, vehicles and landscaping in our community.
Fireworks that are legal in this state include poppers, sparklers, fountains and novelty items that don't explode, spin, leave the ground or fly through the air.
Please don't forget you animals.  Animals do not like the loud noise from fireworks.  If you have an animal that is outside, please consider bringing them in tonight.
Would you like to get more involved? The Grove Connection is always looking for help with our annual neighborhood events. Our events include an Easter Egg Hunt a Summer Cookout a National Night Out a yearly HOA Meeting and a Fall Festival. Please message us through this website if you are interested in learning about getting involved. This is a great way to meet many of wonderful neighbors.
The Steele Creek Division of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has seen an increase in thefts from vehicles / larceny from autos in the last several weeks. Thieves are targeting unlocked cars in residential areas.
In the past year Withers Grove has experienced a few break-ins of personal vehicles and garages.
Please remember:
Keep your garage doors closed when not in use
Make sure your vehicle is locked, even when it is parked in your driveway or in front of your home.
Always remove valuables from your vehicle when left unattended. Anywhere. Anytime.
If your home or car has alarm, use it.
Don't leave keys to the vehicle or your home inside the vehicle.
Always call 911 anytime to report suspicious persons, vehicles or activity.
If you see something odd or feel uneasy about something please call the police.
Please pass this information along to your friends and family.
