Committees

Welcome to the committee section of The Grove Connection!

Here you will find a list of the committees that we have (or would like to have) detailed below. Committees are great ways for community members to get involved with the community as a whole without the added pressure(?) or burden(?) of being on the HOA board. Committees help to form strong communities and also help to spread the responsibility of maintaining a community that we all love to live in beyond just the HOA board members and into the hands of the neighbors as a whole.

If there is an area of interest that you are passionate about below, we'd love to have you help out by contacting us and joining any (or all) of the committees you like. And if you don't see a committee that you think we need, please let us know! Or better yet, volunteer to spearhead it and let's get it going!

  • Creek cleanout (Adopt a creek style)
  • Holiday lighting placement/takedown activities at entrances
  • Identification of broken signs, walking trail slabs, etc. in need of repair
  • Beautification ideas such as sign replacement, plant replacement suggestions in common areas, etc.
  • Potentially assisting with architectural review decisions ("ARC requests") based on our Withers Grove Design Guidelines
  • Potentially assisting with identifying community violations needing to be brought to attention of the board (high grass, siding or fencing in disrepair, etc.)

Comms/Welcome Committee

Board Member Contact: Any Member
Committee Chair Person: None
Committee Member: Open spots

This committee is currently inactive due to lack of community assistance and lack of available free time from existing board members. If you would like to assist with getting this committee going, please reach out to us.

A Welcoming Committee traditionally helps to welcome new homeowners (and renters) to the neighborhood. Stopping by to say hello and helping new community members learn about the area, their neighbors, the neighborhood itself, the board members, and perhaps sharing knowledge about the community guidelines and documents. Additional ideas for this committee fall in line with helping spread community news/information through word of mouth and/or social networks such as:

  • The community website...
  • Community social media (Nextdoor, Facebook, Twitter, etc...)
  • A community chat platform (think Slack, Rocket.Chat, Mattermost, etc.)...
  • A community forum or bulletin board...
  • A community news letter...
  • Anything to improve communication/sharing among community members...

This committee helps to keep eyes and ears on the neighborhood as a whole and helps to keep neighbors informed of any activity they should be aware of that may be suspicious or criminal in nature going on in and around the community. Various activities include: This committee liaisons with our CMPD Community Outreach Officer, keeps tabs on Nextdoor safety articles, and stays in the loop on news and crime trends around the area.

  • Liaisoning with our CMPD Community Outreach Officer
  • Walking patrols (eyes and ears of the neighborhood)
  • Keep tabs on Nextdoor, news, city, etc. safety articles and posts
  • Stay in the loop on news and crime trends around our area and provide information to community members on such

Again, we are in need of volunteers, so if you are interested in any of these committees or would like additional information on our committees in general, please contact us and let us know.
